A fire damaged a room Thursday at the Red Roof Inn on Hospitality Street.

The Tallahassee Fire Department was called around 9:30 Thursday morning.

Firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from the second floor of the two-story building. They were able to get one person to safety after others had evacuated. Four people were taken to the hospital.

The fire was primarily contained to a single room, but smoke damage impacted other rooms. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Tallahassee Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Tallahassee Police Department and Leon County EMS.
