Most incumbents in the Leon County Primary Election had no trouble holding off challengers. Two of those incumbents went on to really win big.
Leon County Property Appraiser Akin Akinyemi easily held off a challenge from Ken Preston, who used to work for Akinyemi in the property appraiser's office. Akinyemi racked up 72% of the vote. The win for Leon District School Superintendent Rocky Hanna was even more lopsided. He pulled 82% of the balloting to trounce his opponent Star Swain who managed to eke out just 18% of the vote. Hanna will face Chiles High School Principal Joe Burgess in November's General Election.
