Before the event was opened to general admission attendees, premium ticket VIPs prowled the many tasting tents to sample the vast selection of brews.

Thousands of beer lovers packed the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center on Saturday for the Sixth Annual Tallahassee Beer Festival.

Among the many vendors was the Eastpoint Beer Company where Pedro Vega is the operations guy.

"There's 110 vendors and only 50-some got to participate in the competition. We got to compete, we didn't win, but we were at the dance."

Nick Walker is the founder and owner of Tallahassee-based Ology Brewing Company. He was also eager to give the attendees a taste of his signature brews.

"It's about quality. Just how you make the best beer and I think customers know what that quality is and you keep that quality high."

Proceeds from the event benefited the United Partners for Human Services.
