Leon County High School in Tallahassee, Fla.

School and district grades are out: and Leon and surrounding counties appear to be maintaining progress, and there are no “F” schools among Gadsden, Franklin, Leon or Jefferson districts.

That finding mirrors state data. Less than 1% of schools statewide received F grades.

In Gadsden, Stewart Street elementary school saw the biggest improvement, as its grade jumped from an F to a C. In Leon County, Pineview Elementary received an A— it was an F school four years ago.

Several schools throughout the surrounding counties, including Jefferson County's consolidated school, did not receive grades because a school has to test at least 95% of their students.

In terms of district evaluations, Franklin, Gadsden and Madison received C grades, while Leon was rated as a B, and Wakulla received an A.

This is the first year grades have been issued under a new grading scale that takes into account student learning gains and more frequent student progress monitoring.
