A local author offers plenty of things to do around Tallahassee

The book actually offers more than 100 things to do, with plenty of honorable mentions.

If you’re looking for something to do in Tallahassee this summer, local author Elizabeth "Ely" Rosario says you can stay busy if you’re open to the possibilities.

“You can totally find things to do every single weekend in Tallahassee. Be ready to experience something new," Rosario says.

Rosario’s book 100 Things to Do in Tallahassee Before You Die includes categories like dining, recreation, and culture. It also breaks down entertainment options based on seasons.

She says her list started in 2016, long before she had a book deal. “My friend had challenged me and said there’s nothing to do in Tallahassee,” Rosario says. “So that night I went home, and I started my journal.”

Several years later, Reedy Press was looking for a local author to write a 100 Things book. The company has published this format in cities nationwide. Rosario had written two other books, Know Your Worth and Own Your Fire. So, when they asked her to do it, she already had experience as a writer and as a curator of things to do in and around Tallahassee.

By the way, the book actually lists more than 100 things.
