Tallahassee’s Challenger Learning Center (CLC) is hosting an event for next week’s solar eclipse.

The Moon will pass between the Sun and Earth Monday afternoon, April 8. Our area will see a partial eclipse around 3 PM, where approximately 70 percent of the sun will be obscured.

The Tallahassee Astronomical Society will set up telescopes in Kleman Plaza.

CLC will offer activities in the exhibit hall and a live stream of NASA’s eclipse coverage in the planetarium. The center is selling solar eclipse glasses and reminding everyone that it’s never safe to look at the sun without special eyewear.
