Students, cheerleaders, and the band gathered in the Capitol courtyard to celebrate FSU’s achievements this year.
Melissa Greenfield with the Student Veterans Center says her association attended the event to spread awareness about their group and to learn about others.
“FSU day is important just to learn about different organizations we have on campus and what we have going on,” says Greenfield.
Gwen Arrieta with the group FSU Unconcerned by Debt, says her organization promotes programs the school offers to help students learn financial literacy.
She says FSU day gave them a chance to show that off.
“I think it’s important to show all the different organizations we have on campus and to show how big and amazing FSU is,” Arrieta says.
Edan Schultz works with the mag lab, which he calls 'the hidden jewel of Tallahassee.' He says he enjoys teaching the public about the work scientists do there and FSU day gave him a chance to do that.
“We’re all about outreach and education and getting people interested in our science. Some people may not realize that the Mag Lab is in Tallahassee and at FSU,” says Schultz.
Officials say they also used the opportunity to highlight Florida State University’s academic and athletic success during the annual FSU Day at the Capitol.
