You can meet Bumi, a giant anteater, at the North Florida Wildlife Center in Jefferson County.

The North Florida Wildlife Center (NFWC) is offering close encounters with lemurs, exotic birds, and more during its Wild Wonders weekend, January 27 and 28 from 10am till 3pm.

The center hosts a diverse selection of animals that can usually be seen only during guided tours, but not this time.

“Visitors will have a chance to guide themselves around the wildlife center to view our exhibits, habitats," says NFWC Executive Director Ryan David Reines, "for a heavily discounted fee of only $10 for children and $15 for adults.”

That’s the internet price. It’s $5 more at the gate.

The Wild Wonders event will feature arts and crafts, food and drink, and animal presentations. The center will also hold a grand opening for its education pavilion. The pavilion will be the new site of the bird show, animal encounters, other presentations, and private event space.

The North Florida Wildlife Center is located at 1386 Cook Rd, in Lamont. That's about half an hour from Tallahassee.
