Daisy Bush from the Woodville K-8 school has been named Leon’s Teacher of the Year.
Bush has been a teacher for 35 years. She has taught at Woodville for seven years and currently serves as a 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts teacher. District officials surprised Bush in her classroom with the news.
“This moment is perfect. It is a huge moment it is a moment that reminds me of what I do every day and to be rewarded for something I love doing is just icing on the cake," Bush said.
Bush is now eligible to compete in the statewide Florida Department of Education Teacher of the Year Program.
