For the second year, a Tallahassee credit union has made it possible for kids in low-income areas to stay warmer during the cold weather months. The coats were given to children at Bond Elementary School on Thursday, Nov. 16.

Envision Credit Union employee volunteers were distributing the coats to the excited children. Kelli Walter is Envisions vice president of community development.

"We were able to pass out 50 coats today to students right here at Bond Elementary."

Bond Principal Lashauna Jackson also helped hand out the coats, which were donated by credit union members and staff.

"I'm quite sure when those kids walk in their homes today with those brand new jackets, their families are going to be elated."

Especially since many of the families in the Bond School zone are among the lowest income households in the city.
