World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is the 15th of this month. A Tallahassee seminar that day will strive to protect seniors from those who would hurt them.

The free, half-day program involves the Claude Pepper Elder Law Clinic, directed by Rima Nathan. She says the Pepper Institute on Aging and Public Policy, AARP Florida and the state Attorney General's office are also part of the effort.

"We're going to have a panel discussion from all of these different offices. We'll touch on what they're seeing locally and statewide and what everyone can do to protect themselves and their loved ones, what you can do as a caregiver and just things to be aware of."

The seminar, on the FSU campus at the Pepper Center, runs from one until four in the afternoon. Because of limited space, advance registration is requested. Use the links below to register. The first is for Zoom particpation; the second is for in-person attendance at the event.
