Tallahassee's first private business incubator has been around for nearly ten years. But DOMI Station just off Railroad Avenue held a grand "re-opening" this week.
The freshly remodeled interior features several new workspaces and greatly improved acoustics. Despite the new look, DOMI Station Executive Director Robert Blacklidge said the purpose of helping launch new businesses hasn't changed.
"You can come here with an idea you have on a napkin. You start working on it in the cafe. Then you come through the double doors and you're committed and you grow the idea of the company. You form it and hire a team member. Move into the double office. And then you get even bigger, get more team members and move into the (bigger) office."
Since its founding in 2014, Blacklidge said DOMI Station has birthed dozens of new businesses, producing millions of dollars in local economic impact.
