During the festival, chalk artists were decorating the Calhoun Street pavement with images that seemed amazingly three-dimensional.

Downtown Tallahassee was packed with people over the weekend for the 23rd Annual LeMoyne Chain of Parks Art Festival. The event featured 150 artists from near and far.

Local musicians provided a nonstop soundtrack for the festival.

Festival Manager Powell Kreis said the attendance was among the best ever.

"So many people saying they're having a great time. The kids are smiling and the artists are having a really good Saturday."

Artists like photographer James Marsh came all the way from central Michigan.

"This is my third time doing this show. This morning's been very strong, very nice. Very good group of people coming through."

And Tallahassee favorites, such as painter Eluster Richardson.

"Hometown people and I enjoy it so much because I love Tallahassee...I love Tallahassee! And the art activity in Tallahassee."

That activity has helped elevate the Chain of Parks Festival to one of the top-rated art shows and sales in the country.
