Florida’s Second Judicial Circuit is hosting a free legal clinic at the Smith Williams Center this Saturday. Attorneys will be on hand to answer civil and criminal legal questions.

The volunteer attorneys come from a wide range of organizations and expertise. They’ll be able to provide free legal consults, advice and representation. County Judge Monique Richardson says the project is a way to give more people access to the courts and more comfort in going to court alone.

“...or perhaps linking them up with an attorney who can assist them with their case completely on a pro bono basis," she said. "Just because we see the numbers, we see the folks coming into court on a regular basis who could really use this type of assistance."

The clinic is this Saturday, April 15, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Smith Williams Services Center on Pasco Street.

Participating partners include Legal Services of North Florida, Florida Second Circuit Judicial Court, Bankruptcy Pro Bono Project, American Inns of Court, Bankruptcy Bar Association, Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Florida Government Bar Association, Leon County Clerk of Courts, Second Circuit Public Defender Jessica Yeary, Paralegal Association of Florida, Tallahassee Bar Association, Tallahassee Barristers, Tallahassee Women Lawyers, Legal Aid Foundation of Tallahassee, and Florida State University College of Law.
