LeMoyne's Chain of Parks Art Festival is just a few weekends away

Tom Flanigan

Tallahassee's Chain of Parks Art Show and Sale takes place downtown on April 15th and 16th. Organizers say this year's event will have more features and attractions than ever.

Festival Chair Kelly Dozier said the real stars of the show are the artists and their creations.

"Beautiful fine art from 150 artists that are coming from all over the country and our favorite regional and local artists will be there, too."

Powell Kreis, the festival's manager, said the event will have several more attractions.

"A chalk art oasis, which will have food trucks and music and the chalk artists, of course. We also have the village with the New Heritage booths. We've always had the Jacques LeMoyne Encampment, but now we'll aos have a few more local groups to talk about their contribution."

Jacques LeMoyne was the French artist who visited North Florida in the 16th Century and for whom the LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts, which hosts the festival, is named.
