In the 2020 election, Leon County voters approved the funding of the Children's Services Council. And now the agency has a permanent home.

Tallahassee Mayor John Dailey was on the county commission when he convinced his colleagues there to support the creation of a special, tax-funded resource to help at-risk kids. He said that led to a groundswell of support at the ballot box nearly two years ago.

"Because we all know it's going to have a tremendous impact on the children of Leon County."

The Council now occupies a large suite in the Parkway Executive Center on old St. Augustine Road. Council Executive Director Cecka Rose Green hopes it will be a very busy place.

"This area is not the CSC's area. It's not the staff's area. It's not the non-profits' area. It's Leon County's area."

The space includes a family services room and other resources for clients young and old.
