The end of the line approaches for Tallahassee's Bradfordville Blues Club

The last of the Tallahassee juke joints will close its doors for the last time April 1st. The much-loved Bradfordville Blues Club is shutting down.
Club owner Gary Anton said he and his wife Kim didn't really expect such a long run when they took over what used to be Dave's C.C. Club.

"Twenty-one years ago! Thought maybe we'd do it 3, 4, 5 years and continued on with it."

But now, with fewer blues acts on the road and some nagging personal health issues, Anton said it's time to let go.

"So we had something very special here in Tallahassee. A diamond in the rough. A lot of people didn't know about it. People still haven't heard of the place."

But for those who heard - and came - the Bradfordville Blues Club was a place unlike any other and a cultural icon to boot. The final evening happens April 1st.
