The Leon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has arrested one of its own. 27-year-old Jarrod Eldridge is facing charges related to soliciting a minor. He’s also been given a termination notice.
Eldridge is a bailiff deputy who’s been employed with LCSO since 2018.
The sheriff’s office says detectives with LCSO’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit were conducting a proactive undercover operation online Wednesday. That’s when Eldridge is accused of communicating with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl. Detectives say Eldridge spoke about engaging in sexual activities and sent pictures of himself.
LCSO says anyone with information about this case or the exploitation of children is asked to call the Special Victims Unit or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
Anonymous tipsters are eligible for cash rewards of $500 to $5,000 if their information leads to an arrest.
