The Word of South Festival happens this weekend in Tallahassee's Cascades Park. The event's president and founder was on handas final preparations were taking place at the site.
Mark Mustian, a celebrated author in his own "write" - apologies to John Lennon - as well as attorney and former city commissioner, began the event in 2015. There was a COVID hiatus last year. But Mustian is delighted Word of South is now back in business.

"Yeah, I think it's going to be a big weekend! Jamey Johnson Friday night and everything free from there on out, so it's going to be great."

He said a total of 16 performers on 8 stages will keep audiences fully engaged both Saturday and Sunday.

"We're doing a lot of different stuff! We've got the tribute to Nat and Cannonball Adderley, we've got gospel, hip-hop and country...it's going to be good!"

The Word of South Festival web site has the complete lineup of musicians and writers along with their performance times.
