The Shamrock Scurry 5K race and 1-mile fun run is back. The annual fundraiser for Killearn United Methodist Church (KUMC) went virtual last year thanks to the pandemic, but the runners and walkers will be back in action this Saturday starting at 8 a.m.

“We're happy that we can actually be on our campus,” says race co-director Connie Clarke. “We're being very careful, cautious, but we are live this year. So, we're excited about that.”

After the race, participants will be treated to free pancakes and an awards presentation outside.

The money raised goes toward KUMC missions – like the church food bank, the Madison Youth Ranch, and Meals on Wheels for home-bound seniors.

“This is a significant event for missions, but it also is a great event for our community,” Clarke says, adding that almost 200 volunteers from the church will be there to help.

Runners will traverse the Killearn Estates neighborhood and the Killearn Country Club golf course Saturday morning. Registration is available online and at the church at 2800 Shamrock Street South. Tickets range from $10 - $25. Click here for more information.
