Leon County Sheriff Walt McNeil will be on hand at the clinic to greet and interact with local residents

A Tallahassee McDonald's is hosting a free, drive-thru COVID vaccine clinic Tuesday, August 24. Restaurant Owner-Operator Raphael Vazquez said the free clinic happens between 9 a.m. and noon with a food incentive.

"We try to be convenient, so having that convenient spot for them, they can get the vaccine and have a free Value Meal."

Vazquez added the clinic is co-hosted by the South City Foundation and the Leon County Sheriff's Department with a prominent Department member on-site during the event.

"If someone doesn't want to get the vaccine, but they want to say hello to Sheriff Walt McNeil, or ask him a question about something in the neighborhood, that's available, too."

Still, the hope is that more South City residents, whose vaccination rates lag the community average, will take advantage of the COVID shots.
