With some interior seating readjustments to ensure a bit of audience distancing, the little live music venue is again welcoming local musicians to its postage stamp-sized stage.

Live music is back at Midtown Tallahassee's Blue Tavern. After being shuttered for more than a year due to COVID, the little bistro is again bringing in the crowds, with a bit of social distancing thrown in.
Even with a more spread-out layout, Blue Tavern owner Carrie Hamby had a pretty packed crowd Saturday night.

"Welcome back to the Blue Tavern!," she called out as the every-seat-taken audience cheered.

"I am just so grateful that we could come back," she shared earlier in the evening. "We didn't know as recently as the spring whether it would happen. So knock on wood, here!"

Also happy to be back playing for real people was Rachel Hillman whose trio played that evening.

"I know people are really excited, specifically for Blue Tavern, and I'm glad to be part of this community and kicking off this first week."

And how many other artists - and venues - could have the whole audience singing along...from the very first song?
