Whole Child Leon has gathered local government and community leaders to form a group called Equity Tallahassee; it wants to address and highlight issues of racial injustice and systemic racism in Leon County. The group has created a website for people to share their experiences. City Commissioner Dianne Williams-Cox says the group is going to use those conversations to find the gaps in equity and take action on it.

“We’re tired of checking the box, we’re ready to stop talking and get to work and get some action going on in our city," said Williams-Cox. "Tallahassee has the opportunity to move forward towards racial equity.”

Whole Child Leon Executive Director Courtney Atkins says the online conversation continues what they started in 2019. Then the group gathered with Leon County Schools, law enforcement, and the City of Tallahassee to talk about institutionalized racism.
