TCC To Launch Pilot Program Aimed At Helping Returning Citizens

Tallahassee Community College offers workforce development programs at five correctional institutions. At the Quincy Correctional Institution, inmates can graduate from the program skilled in culinary arts. Now, TCC will begin a pilot that will offer transitionary services to inmates returning back to their communities.

Tallahassee Community College will launch a pilot program to help inmates follow through with getting a job after being released. TCC already has workforce development programs in five correctional institutions to help inmates develop job skills. Now, the college will launch a pilot to offer job services to inmates after they’re released. Those services can help them bolster their resume writing and interview skills. It also can help them get referrals for a job. Each person in the program will have a case manager who will check in on them to make sure they’re on track.

Robbie Gaffney graduated from Florida State University with degrees in Digital Media Production and Creative Writing. Before working at WFSU, they recorded FSU’s basketball and baseball games for Seminole Productions as well as interned for the PBS Station in Largo, Florida. Robbie loves playing video games such as Shadow of the Colossus, Animal Crossing, and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Their other hobbies include sleeping and watching anime.
