FSU Chooses To Hold Virtual Commencement Ceremony For Fall Graduates
Florida State University will hold a virtual commencement ceremony this December. The decision comes after the State University System issued a directive telling schools to develop alternative commencement plans due to COVID-19.
President John Thrasher will preside over the ceremony. It’ll be streamed on the university’s Facebook, YouTube and will air locally on 4FSU.
To keep with the traditions, the ceremony will feature a commencement address from Sharon Nicholson, a Professor of Meteorology with the Department of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Science, and also there will be a turning of tassels on the graduates’ caps.
Names of more than 2,8000 graduates will appear at the end of the virtual ceremony and can be found in the digital commencement program.
