Leon County Commissioners voted to allow youth sports this fall, which includes little league baseball.

Leon County Commissioners are giving fall youth sports the go-ahead, but with a few new rules in place. Leagues are required to submit their COVID-19 safety plans before play can start. Commissioner Kristin Dozier says the county should work to make sure those plans are followed.

“We could say, and I would like to do this, that if those guidelines are not followed to the best of their ability—good faith—that we could shut down fall sports at any time,” Dozier says.

For Cross Country groups, only one parent can accompany an athlete to events. Everyone attending must be screened for COVID-19.
