Current Leon County Sheriff Walt McNeil has won his race for reelection. He took to Facebook live Tuesday night to celebrate the victory.

“I am excited about this win tonight as I keep saying this isn’t about me this is about this community and all of us getting into the trenches and working hard to make a change," said McNeil.

McNeil says he plans to spend his second term as sheriff focusing on improving safety throughout the community. He says part of that will including working to fight drug abuse and lower the local crime rate.
