The Big Bend Police Benevolent Association and Tallahassee Professional Firefighters IAFF L-2339 unions are out with their list of endorsements for the upcoming election cycle.
The firefighters’ union is backing state Representative Lorrane Ausley’s bid to go to the Senate. Ausley wants to replace Senator Bill Montford, who is term-limited. The union is also backing Allison Tant to replace Ausley in the House.
In local races, the firefighters are endorsing Elaine Bryant’s effort to remain on the city commission. She was appointed to the post after Scott Maddox resigned over corruption charges.
City Commissioner Curtis Richardson also gets the nod from the union as, does Leon County Commissioner Bryan Desloge, and Kelly Otte. Otte is running to replace Mary Ann Lindley who isn’t running for re-election.
The PBA also released its endorsements earlier this month. In its press release, the union says of its preferred candidates “these pro-law enforcement candidates will not only greatly benefit the law enforcement community, but they will provide a high level of service for all those whom they serve.”
The Big Bend chapter is supporting Elaine Bryant for the City Commission Seat 1 race, Curtis Richardson for Seat 2, Brian Welch and Jeff Hendry for the Leon County Commission, and has made two endorsements in local judicial races. The union is backing Amanda Wall and Angela Dempsey.
