Tallahassee police say rumors of protestors being bused into the community are "unsubstantiated." The statement follows social media posts claiming thousands of protestors were arriving in the Killearn area with plans for violent behavior.

The Tallahassee Police Department sent out the following statement on social media:

"The Tallahassee Police Department is committed to providing a safe environment for the community and supporting the efforts of citizens to peacefully exercise their First Amendment rights. Recent rumors on social media claiming busloads of protestors with alternate intentions descending on Tallahassee are unsubstantiated, and there is no known cause for concern within our community. As always, should residents see any activity causing concern, please report it to law enforcement. Mutual respect and open dialogue are vital. TPD is committed to serving Tallahassee and promoting understanding in our community."

The update comes a day after Leon County reinstated a nightly curfew.
