The Leon County Humane Society is offering a way for limited-mobility pet owners to feed their animals during the virus crisis.
The Society's Executive Director Lisa Glunt said this has become her organization's top priority.
"Our main effort right now is getting pet food assistance for those who - for one reason or another - are struggling to keep their pets."
Of special concern she added are the area's seasoned citizens.
"Seniors who either don't have transportation or who shouldn't be out during this time, so we're also trying to get pet food into their hands as well to make sure we're keeping these people and their animals together so hopefully they can ride out this storm together."
Glunt says there's limited delivery capability, but really suggests calling the office and arranging to have the pet food picked up from the porch of the Society's headquarters on Timberlane Road.
