Retrial For Henry Segura Underway For 2010 Quadruple Murder

The trial for a Tallahassee man accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend and her three children is underway for the second time. Two years ago a jury couldn’t reach a decision for Henry Segura.

Brandi Peters was shot several times, one child was shot, and the other two were drowned. The six -person jury saw evidence Wednesday of a bloody crime scene and heard from investigators on what they saw at the home.

Segura maintains he did not kill Peters. His attorneys say Segura was initially elusive with investigators because he didn’t want his wife to know he was cheating. Complicating the case, another man has said he killed Peters over drug debts. And in the first trial, people who knew Peters said she was a known drug dealer.

The state claims Segura killed Peters over $20,000 in unpaid child support.

The quadruple murder took place nine years ago. If convicted, Segura could face the death penalty or life in prison.
