Franklin Sheriff Catches One Arson Suspect, Looking For Tips In Other Cases

The Franklin County Sheriffs office has caught a man they say is accused of setting fire and burglarizing an Eastpoint home in late July. Charles Moses is facing charges of burglary, arson and larceny.

This case is not related to several other suspicious fires in the Lanark Village area. Franklin Sheriff AJ Smith recently put out a call for information in a facebook live video posted to the department's facebook page.

“If anyone has information leading to the arrest and conviction of the folks who’ve been setting these fires, there will be a cash reward. We know there’s probably somebody here locally that knows about this, that might have heard something," he says.

Smith was standing in front of a burned out house, with visible scortch marks.

The Lanark Village fires have taken place over the last six weeks. The most recent occurred off of Highway 98. There have also been multiple woods fires, which the sheriff says were definitely set. The arsons are being investigated by the Sheriffs office and the state fire marshall.
