Leon School Superintendent Rocky Hanna is backing Allison Tant’s bid to represent Tallahassee in the Florida House.
Hanna was onhand at Tant's school supply drive Wednesday.
“I’m hoping Allison will get into the legislature and she may be the only democrat up there in overwhelming odds, but I’ve watched her work over the last number of years with the Democratic Committee and the Democratic Party in the state of Florida. She’s going to be wonderful in the legislature. Like I said, her voice will be heard."
Tant is a former chairwoman of the Florida Democratic Party and is running for the seat now occupied by Lorrane Ausley who is making a bid for the state Senate. Tallahassee Mayor John Dailey and state Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried are also backing Tant.
