Gadsden County Commissioners will discuss updating the county’s tax exemption ordinance for new businesses. That's coming on at their meeting Tuesday.
Olivia Smith is the county's public information officer.
“It's going to be more in line with what the FL statute says and it’s going to become more specific, particularly when it comes to definitions like what a new business is and definition of expansion an existing business,” Smith says.
The Florida statute definitions are narrower and could limit the businesses that qualify for the tax break. The proposed change is not expected to impact county revenue. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. in the Edward J. Butler Building in the Commission Chambers.
