Leon County hosted its Spring Home Expo on Saturday, April 13 at the County Extension Office on Paul Russell Road.
There was a capacity crowd for the occasion, which included a realtors' roundtable on how to finance a house, be it new construction or an older fixer-upper.
"It it's the house you really want in the area you really want, then it might be worth pursuing and go for the purchase of it and you'll end up after the improvements with equity," was the advice of one participant.
Among the home maintenance presenters was Brian Miller of Brian's Septic Service.
"Usually when they have a problem it's a big, expensive problem," Miller said. "If they have to put a drainfield in they tend to remember to do maintenance in the future."
Also on hand were experts on greening, gardening and disaster preparation for homeowners with another hurricane season just 7 weeks away.
