Big Bend PBA Chapter Endorses Seven Candidates In Local Races

The Big Bend chapter of Florida’s Police Benevolent Association has announced its endorsements for some Leon County races.

Steve Slade, the chapter’s president, says seven candidates have been chosen based on their “understanding of the important and unique issues facing local law enforcement.” For that reason, the Big Bend PBA is throwing its support behind local attorneys David Frank and Monique Richardson for Circuit and County judge, respectively.

In County Commission races, the chapter is backing Second Harvest CEO Rick Minor as well as political newcomer and Florida State University student Jasmine Ali-Mohammed. For City Commission, it is backing Tallahassee-Leon Federal Credit Union CEO Lisa Brown, and longtime Tallahassee resident Bob Lotane.

The local PBA’s pick for mayor is County Commissioner John Dailey.

Ryan Dailey is a reporter/producer for WFSU/Florida Public Radio. After graduating from Florida State University, Ryan went into print journalism working for the Tallahassee Democrat for five years. At the Democrat, he worked as a copy editor, general assignment and K-12 education reporter.
