Governor Rick Scott has appointed a local sheriff to a statewide commission that establishes rules and processes for law enforcement across the state.
Bay County Sheriff Tommy Ford is now on the 19-member Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission.
Ford’s appointment began last Friday. Filling a vacant seat, his term ends August 1st, of this year.
Among the commission’s duties are certifying law enforcement and training schools, setting rules, and performing disciplinary actions.
