TPD Officer On Administrative Leave After Shooting At Burglary Suspect

A Tallahassee Police officer is on administrative leave after shooting at a burglary suspect. According to the Tallahassee Police Department, the shooting happened on Mission Road at 9:47 Monday night.

Update: TPD has identified the officer involved as Clifford Crouch. He's been with the department since December 2015 and has never faced disciplinary action with the department. Crouch is on paid administrative leave.

Original Story: A TPD patrol officer was responding to a burglary in progress. The department says the officer arrived at the location and came into contact with a person the officer believed was armed. The officer fired at the person. But no one was injured at the time of the shooting.

The department isn’t naming the officer involved. They have been placed on administrative leave and an investigation into the shooting is underway, which the department says is standard procedure.

TPD is asking for anyone with information about the case to call the department or Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
