Until Friday afternoon, there had been three candidates filed to run for the Tallahassee City Commission Seat Three race. Now, there are only two as the incumbent, Commission Nancy Miller has dropped out of the race.
In a written statement released mid-afteroon, Miller, who has served two terms on the commission, said she wouldn't seek a third. She cited her husband's health as a primary reason, But she also mentioned what she called the present tone of City Hall critics who have labeled many of Tallahassee's appointed and elected officials--herself included--"Corrupt." Her departure from the race leaves two contenders for the seas: Bill Schack, the food services manager at the Kearney Center and Jeremy Matlow, manager partner and founder of Gaines Street Pies.
