Jefferson County Sheriff David Hobbs has passed away. It was due to complications from lung cancer medication.
In addition to his role as sheriff, Hobbs has served in various law enforcement roles, including the Florida Highway Patrol for 11 years.
He’s been Jefferson County Sheriff since 2004 and has been re-elected since.
Attorney General Pam Bondi released a statement, following Hobb’s death. She says she remembers the former U.S. Marine Corps vet as a devoted lawman and a friend.
