The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is opening an additional weekend for gray triggerfish season.
The gray triggerfish season in the Gulf opens the weekends of October 7 and the 14. And now officials are adding another weekend starting October 21. The hope is it will give the salt water fishing industry a chance to catch up after Hurricane Irma caused lost wages through closures and cancellations.
Florida Fish and Wildfire Conservation Commission executive director, Nick Wiley says the additional weekend also gives people the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.
