Local Officials To Dedicate New Voting Operations Center Honoring Ion Sancho

Leon Votes facebook page

Leon County officials will be holding an event Thursday, which honors longtime supervisor of elections Ion Sancho.

Officials say the public is invited to attend the official Grand Opening and dedication ceremony of the Ion V. Sancho Leon County Election Center—located on 2990-1 Apalachee Parkway. It starts at 3 p.m. Thursday.

It houses the new Supervisor of Elections’ administrative offices and operations center—now under one roof. It includes voter registration and candidate services, more parking, and a new early voting site.

After the ceremony, the public can take a tour of the facility named for Sancho, who retired last year. He’d been the supervisor of elections for Leon County since 1989.
