Tallahassee's 4th Annual Word of South Festival will happen in mid-April. The yearly celebration of literature and music has announced the headliner act that will appear on the Cascades Park stage.
Former Tallahassee City Commissioner and acclaimed author in his own right, Mark Mustian released the news today (Monday, 7/24).
"We're proud to announce way in advance this year our musical headliner for Word of South for 2018, which will be - drum roll - the Tedeschi/Trucks Band and it's someone we've wanted for years!" Mustian exclaimed. "They're one of the best live acts in the nation."
And because of that superstar status, Mustian urged festival-goers to get their tickets fast, even though the festival is aways off.
"It's April 13-15 next year, but the tickets for the Teseschi/Trucks show go on sale Friday (July 28) at noon and we expect it to sell out. So if you want to go, you need to get a ticket early."
The rest of the festival, including national and local writers and other top-notch musical acts is free.
