There are new developments regarding the federal probe into Tallahassee’s Community Redevelopment Agency. The City of Tallahassee has turned over the documents requested by federal investigators and the agency’s next meeting has been canceled.
The next CRA meeting had been set for this Thursday, but on Tuesday the Leon County Commission voted to withdraw itself from the joint city/county agency. Early Wednesday morning, City Spokesperson Alison Faris then sent out an advisory that Thursday’s CRA meeting would be put off with a new date to be announced later. Two hours after that, Faris issued another release saying the agency and the City had turned over paper and electronic documents requested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. That request, totaled some 90,000 pages of information about the CRA, and various development projects it’s been involved with over the past few years.
