A standing-room-only crowd honored some outstanding Tallahassee women today (Thursday, 3/2) during the local kick-off for Women’s History Month.
The event was hosted by the Oasis Center for Women and Girls. Oasis Executive Director Haley Cutler-Seeber said the gathering was a message to girls and women that their lives can be essentially without limits.
“This event is all about breaking barriers; shattering glass ceilings,” she exclaimed.
The luncheon’s award winners exemplified that. Like Taylor Biro who went from being a homeless teenager to being honored as an “Unsung Hero”. Now she has advice for other young women.
“Believe in yourself and not doubt what you’re capable of. Just find your place and what you’re supposed to be doing to make you happy,” she said after the presentation.
This year’s other award winning women: Dr. Charmane Caldwell, Alexandra Dotson, Dr. Andrea Friall, Merry Ann Frisby, Rebecca Kelly-Manders, Patricia McCray and Barbara Westcott.
