Jordon Proctor, the 21-year-old son of a county commissioner, is staying put in the Leon County jail for now.
County Judge Ronald Flury ordered Proctor held without bond on armed robbery charges in connection with a hold up last week at the SunTrust Bank on South Monroe Street. Commissioner Bill Proctor says his son suffers from autism and traced his latest legal troubles to an insurance company’s refusal to pay for expensive injections.
“When the medication that he’s on costs us 3 thousand and 1 hundred dollars and your insurance won’t cover it and your daddy can’t afford it, hell, what does that leave you with?”
Jordan Proctor was found incompetent to face similar charges two years ago in connection with the hold up of a pizza delivery man. His private attorney, Mutaqee (Moo-tock-ee,) Akbar of Tallahassee, says he is working on a treatment plan and will eventually ask for his client’s release.
