Right now, about 800 Florida kids are waiting to find a forever home. November is national adoption month and state and city officials say they’re focused on finding more adoptive and foster parents. Zack Gibson is with the governor’s office
“We certainly encourage everyone throughout the city of Tallahassee to please consider opening your hearts and homes to these children who not only need to be adopted, but more importantly need a great home with a great foster parent,” Gibson says.
In the Big Bend area, 24 children are currently looking for adoptive families. Last year, 103 local kids found forever homes.
