A real champion in both sports and in life will be sharing his story with a Tallahassee audience in early October.
Hall of Fame Buffalo Bills Quarterback Jim Kelly is this year's "Power Forward" speaker. Along with the FSU College of Business, the annual event is hosted by First Commerce Credit Union where Cecilia Homison is the CEO. At Thursday's announcement at FSU's Turnbull Center, Homision said Kelly's story of overcoming adversity both on and off the gridiron has something for everyone.
"Whether you're a real seasoned business leader or you're that very young student, he's got a message that speaks to all of us."
And Homison expected the talk will be a sellout. "It's going to be on October 5 at (FSU's) Ruby Diamond Concert Hall," she said. "Tickets are live and on sale right now, so first-come-first-served. Please join us to hear Jim Kelly live!"
Previous Power Forward speakers were Barbara Corcoran, Steve Wozniak and Randi Zuckerberg.
