Boy's Town of North Florida is expanding its Tallahassee campus with a center that will bring artistic experiences to both the kids who live there and the grownups who will take the children into their homes.
Development Director Dena Strickland said the new facility is called "Art Town".
"We are going to have an amazing tutoring and mentoring program, which is coming up with the new school year and if you visit Art Town, it stands for 'Art, Resources and Training,'" Strickland explained.
On Thursday (8/4), the facility received $2,500 worth of help from the new Moe's Southwest Grill at Bannerman Crossings. Rob Atkisson is the restaurant franchisee.
"The Art Town facility, which is brand new is an amazing amenity for these kids to grow in so many different ways and we just felt it was something we just absolutely wanted to be a part of contributing toward," he said after the check presentation.
Much of the cash came from a VIP event the restaurant hosted last month.
