The funeral for Antonio Brown is set for this Saturday in Melbourne Florida. He was among more than 40 people killed when a gunman opened fire in an Orlando nightclub.

Army Reserve Captain Antonio Brown, 29,  graduated from Florida A&M University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He was deployed to Kuwait from 2010-2011.  Brown and 48 other people were slain last Sunday in a mass shooting at an Orlando area nightclub.

Jane Brookshire worked for the 1st Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade at Fort Riley while Brown was serving there, before he left active duty and joined the Reserves.

"He was the one person who used to come to my office every day and make sure that I was having a good day," she told NPR. "We would just sit there and talk and laugh. He was an amazing officer, friend and an absolute joy to be around."

Visitation is set Friday from 5-7 in the evening at the New Shiloh Christian Center, in Melbourne, Florida. The funeral is set for 3 p.m. Saturday. Florida A&M University will hold a candlight vigil for Brown on Monday at 8 p.m. It will take place at the Eternal Flame, across from Lee Hall auditorium.
